August: A Fresh Start

Many people think of January as the time for new beginnings. But as you start counting down the last days of summer or begin preparing for a new school or work schedule, August offers its own opportunity to reset. Ask yourself…
- What am I carrying that I need to let go of?
- What boundaries do I need to strengthen?
- How can I better care for my mental health?
- What habits no longer serve me?
- What is one small change I can make this month?
Remember, growth happens one decision at a time—not all at once. Now consider choosing one intentional act of self-care each day during August. Ideas include:
- Taking a 15-minute walk
- Spending time outdoors
- Practicing deep breathing
- Reading a book
- Journaling your thoughts
- Saying “no” without guilt
- Connecting with a supportive friend
- Drinking more water
- Going to bed 30 minutes earlier
- Scheduling time for rest
Small, consistent habits create lasting change. Remember: You do not have to have everything figured out. You do not have to be perfect. You do not have to face life’s challenges alone.
