Adult Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is a good fit for those who don’t require a controlled hospital setting but would benefit from a more intensive therapeutic experience where you can focus on your recovery from mental health challenges. Your doctor or mental health professional can help determine what level of care is best for you and provide a referral.
Our program has been helping adult patients with behavioral health conditions for decades, offered by one of the most experienced teams in Michigan. In 2025, the program was awarded the Kevin’s Song “Save a Life Award”.
Partial hospitalization is a voluntary, day-treatment program that offers intensive therapeutic care for adults with emotional or mental health concerns that have interfered with their daily functioning. Care is provided in a supportive and confidential virtual group setting. Sessions are held Monday through Friday during the day. Average treatment lasts about two weeks. Patients are expected to attend every session.
For your comfort and convenience, PHP is currently offered virtually through live video conferencing. That means you’ll speak with your therapist or doctor and participate in group therapy using your smartphone or computer.
Treatment includes dialectical behavior therapy coping skills sessions, psychoeducation sessions, availability of brief individual therapy and medication management with a psychiatric provider. Referral must come from a provider (therapist, psychiatrist, primary care physician). that can justify need for higher level of care. PHP can be used when outpatient therapy is not intensive enough or to prevent an inpatient psychiatric hospitalization. As part of our personalized approach, referral calls are answered by program clinicians.
Patients with a variety of conditions can benefit from partial hospitalization, including:
- Anxiety
- Depression and mood disorders including bi-polar disorders
- Personality disorders
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Post-partum depression
Higher level of care, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, PTSD, must have a primary mental health diagnosis. Close psychiatric monitoring and medication management
