To facilitate an environment that promotes dignity and respect to individuals we serve by teaching functioning life skills that empower and transform by improving overall quality of life.

Recreational therapy is a specialized service that is provided to individuals with disabling conditions, illnesses or injuries. The goal of Recreational Therapy is to restore, remediate and rehabilitate functional life skills to the individuals served. Recreational Therapy services are unique and specialized services that provide individuals with access to recreation opportunities that help support, improve, and advance, overall health and well-being. Recreational Therapy services are provided by a Certified Therapeutic Recreational specialist (CTRS). A CTRS is certified through the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification, which requires a bachelor’s degree or higher through an accredited university, professional internship, and passing of the national certification exam. Recreational Therapists provide access to a fulfilling and active leisure lifestyle through meaningful activities, home and community-based therapy sessions that fulfill the social, emotional, physical and cognitive needs. Recreational Therapists work in acute hospital care, psychiatric facilities, physical rehabilitation, neuro-skill centers, home community-based treatment programs.
